WORKS
As part of the scope of work, PGC have been asked to carry out a geotechnical desk top study. The objective of the desktop study is to identify tower foundations where there is a potential geotechnical misalignment and any potential ground related hazards on the ZS Drakelow – Willington 400 KV OHL East line.
PGC carried the works out on behalf of Morrison Energy Services which have been commissioned by National Grid (NG) to undertake the ZS Drakelow – Willington 400 KV OHL East refurbishment works. The scope included a site investigation on tower ZS16 to full depth (4m) and a FDI to confirm condition of existing foundation. PGC have completed the investigative works, conditions where difficult at the tower’s location due to a high-water table and a lake in proximity.
